Aim Higher

Blackstone LaunchPad

The Blackstone LaunchPad at Wayne State University helps aspiring entrepreneurs transform untested ideas into vital businesses. LaunchPad faculty and staff assist students on a daily basis through its open door office located in the Undergraduate Library on the main campus. Students develop their entrepreneurial skills by attending workshops, networking with other student entrepreneurs, and through one on one consulting. In partnership with the New Economy Initiative (NEI) for Southeast Michigan, the University of Miami, Wayne State University and Walsh College, The Blackstone Charitable Foundation's first major grant established "Blackstone LaunchPad" in 2010. It has become a national model for fostering entrepreneurship through higher education with its experiential-based learning program that facilitates the formation and growth of student and alumni ventures.

WSU is a comprehensive university with 11 schools and colleges offering more than 350 major subject areas to 33,000 graduate and undergraduate students.  WSU is Michigan's only urban research university, fulfilling a unique niche in providing access to a world-class education at a great value.

Walsh College’s mission is to deliver a business education that integrates application and theory to prepare graduates for successful careers. Walsh offers a number of programs and services for entrepreneurial students and is a site for the Blackstone LaunchPad program in the Southeast Michigan.
